Product Launch Framework

How to promote a profitable product/service on social media.

Estimated Reading Time: (3-7 minutes)

Been in business 2+ years now.

In that time, pulled in about $25k over the last 12 months.

During those 12 months... I developed up to 5+ products/services trying to make some good income online.

Tried every trick in the one-person business playbook:

  • Paid Coaching calls ($5K)

  • Marketing services ($12.5K)’

  • Web development ($7.5K)

Crashed, burned & lost money several times before making a winner on each category.

Here's the thing — Every attempt taught me the core principles of making something extremely valuable for my audience.

Now, whenever I launch a new product/service, I stick to a simple 7-step system.

You see… It doesn't matter how much attention you get If you don’t know how monetize it.

You need a process to find demand for a burning problem,

Transfer that demand into your business,

& then present your product as the obvious solution.

I call it The Product Launch Framework.

With this system, you will be able to:

  • Develop a marketing strategy for your product/service.

  • Develop all the crucial marketing assets to promote it.

  • And do it on way that appeals specifically to your audience.

That being said, let’s dive in:

Build the Product.

Understating the needs from your audience is essential.

You can have the best marketing in the world…

But your launch can still fail because no one wants what you’re offering.

If that happens… It means that your product is not solving a real burning problem. Let’s fix that.

Start your product research by:

  • Seeing what your competitors are selling

  • Conducting surveys or interviews with potential customers.

  • Identifying gaps in your niche or where can you do it better.

Want to do it faster?

  • Buy 5 products

  • Mix & match best practices & patterns.

  • Replicate the structure & messaging.

  • Improve over it & add your own skills.

  • Redesign it’s presentation.

Don’t reinvent the wheel…

Take what is already working & make it better.

After nailing the product…

Tailor your marketing to resonate deeply with your audience.

Here’s a few ways you can position it:

  • "New" and never seen before.

  • "Better" than anything you've used before.

  • "More Affordable" than alternatives.

Promote it.

Building hype before your product launch is essential.

In order to build excitement & anticipation…

You need to promote your product everywhere.

  • CTA at the end of newsletter

  • P.S. statement on Twitter/Thread post.

  • Promotional Emails to your owned audience.

  • BIO links, Landing Pages, LinkedIn featured section, etc.

That is only step 1.

Then — we have to aggressively post content:

  • on specific time periods,

  • simultaneously,

  • across all channels.

We are going to post:

  • Promotional Emails

  • Promotional Twitter/Thread Posts

  • Promotional LinkedIn Carousel.

We are going to follow the tease, shout, launch strategy:

  1. Tease (1 month out)

  2. Shout (2 weeks out)

  3. Launch (1 day out & release date)

For example, here’s a ‘tease’ email.

This content & dates will act like updates for your audience.

Share behind-the-scenes, sneak peeks, and countdowns to your launch date.

This helps create a sense of anticipation and excitement among your followers.

The idea is to release a series value-driven, educational content before launch.

This builds trust and preps your audience, making your product the natural solution they've been waiting for. When you launch, they're ready to buy - no hard sell needed.

The Test-Launch Strategy.

Team up with other creators in your space before launch.

Leverage their audience & credibility to reach more people.

Here’s how to do it:

Offer free access or reduced rate in exchange for a testimonial, feedback or/and the chance of them directly promoting your product to their audience.

  • Use the testimonials as social proof for your website.

  • Use the feedback to improve the product.

  • Use their promotion to reach a wider audience.

Social Proof.

Customer testimonials and success stories are powerful tools for building trust and credibility around your product.

People want to make sure you know what you’re talking about.

Connect yourself with other authorities in your space.

The trust & goodwill they have built over the years will transfer to you by law of association.

“Oh you know X, so you must be Y”

Is hard to be skeptical when 25+ top creators trusts you.

People want to be ‘sure’ — they are making the right decision.

Give them peace of mind.

Core Offer.

One of the best ways to ensure a successful launch is by creating urgency & scarcity.

Not only are these effective ways to drive sales…

They can create a wave of virality when promoting your product.

Let me explain:

People don’t want to miss out.

You'll be surprised by how people act…

When there's a limited supply or a deadline:

  • Double purchases

  • Inflated prices

  • Reactive behavior

  • Pushing each other in line.

Common sense takes a vacation & irrationality takes its place.

There’s thousands of cases like shoe releases, luxury collections, special events, etc.

Why would you spend $1000 on a Jordan?

Urgency & Scarcity.

Not arguing if it is right or wrong,

Just showing that it is a real thing that affects everyone.

Make sure to use to your advantage.

To keep things simple…

There’s 2 ways to do it:

  • Scarcity: Limited spots

  • Urgency: Deadline

This is my personal preference:

Scarcity for products: templates, resources, software, etc.

Urgency for services: coaching, cohorts, programs, etc.

Launch Day.

As I said before…

We’re following the tease, shout, launch strategy.

On launch day:

  • Post a thread on Twitter & Threads

  • Post 2 emails (before & after)

  • Post 1 carousel on LinkedIn.

If you got “promotions” as an exchange with the other creators for early access.

Notify & tell them to promote your stuff.

Let them know today is the day.

We will touch on affiliate marketing & how to build a network of content creators next week.

It will be called (Affiliate Strategy Framework)

Post Launch.

Launching the product gives you cash.

The real money is what you do after it.

You need to keep promoting your product — for eternity — to get sales from your audience over & over again.

Don’t do it randomly.

Have a detailed process instead.

What when & how you are going to post?

  • What days of the week?

  • How many days?

  • How many times per day?

  • At what time periods?

  • What type of posts?

  • On which platforms?

  • What’s the format? (Video, Image, Text)

  • Directly promotion it or CTA at the end?

These questions should give you a good starting point.

Figure out what works best for you, your audience & your niche.

Deliver & Overdeliver.

Focus on over-communicating and overdelivering.

Give extra value to your customers:

  • Additional resources

  • Follow-up content

  • Training videos

Help your customer get the most out of your product.

Analyze, Iterate & Improve.

You’re first product is probably going to suck.

It is to be expected — Don’t worry.

Movement is better than perfection.

Make sure to make your product exceptional by constantly improving over it.

How? — Let your customers tell you.

Have a process to collect reviews, testimonials & feedback.

You’ll use this information as your roadmap.

Keep iterating & launching new versions until it’s perfect.

There you have it, the Product Launch Framework.

I hope you found these helpful.
