Skill Mastery Series: Entrepreneurship

Purpose, Freedom & The Skill to Live on Your Own Terms.

Estimated Reading Time: 5-9 minutes

“Entrepreneurship is the ability to build something for your own.”

“To tie your income not to some credentials. — But to your skill, knowledge & your ability to solve problems in the world.”

When I was a child, I felt alone.

I felt like I couldn't relate to my peers.

They all obeyed their parents, teachers, and conformed to their friends without questioning whether or not it was the right decision.

They went to school, got a job, and from that point forward you never heard anything interesting from them again.

Formal education has its place…

But people are losing trust in its ability to secure their future.

It's all too common for people to invest 4-12 years and tens of thousands of dollars after 12 prior years of public schooling to be left with close to nothing but a piece of paper.

For those who want fulfilling work and an open schedule, a job isn't going to give it to you.

I realized this after:

  • Going to the united states to peruse my future at 18 years old.

  • Getting a job to find my independence. (13 x/h when I started).

  • Work hard to get enough funding to get on college.

  • Get my high school diploma denied as not valid & told that I needed to do 2 more years of highschool to study information I already knew.

  • Being charged extra money by college to get an extra year of tuition for information that supposedly I didn't know based on my origin.

  • Discovering my love for business after reading 100M offers by Alex Hormozi out of curiosity.

  • Learning the entire college curriculum through self-education in less than a month.

  • Using my self-study to get a high-paying job.

  • Using the funds of that job to fund my business.

The reality of formal education slapped me in the face.

(also the B.S. behind the system)

They kind of assume that you are a caveman if you were raised outside the US.

Crazy fact: the education of my country is better, but I digress.

If I could learn more useful skills in 6 months of self-education (for free)…

Than I could in 5 years of formal education (for $50k+)

Why wouldn’t I do that?

If I could get a better higher-paying job than most of the population through my own studies, that would eventually transfer over into a hyper-profitable business, why waste so much time in college?

This introduced me the importance of entrepreneurship.

The ability to build something for your own.

To tie my income not to some credentials…

But to my skill, knowledge & my ability to solve problems in the world.

Entrepreneurship gave me the power to say “Fuck you” to the system.

To build a life on my own terms.

Here’s the truth:

Entrepreneurship isn’t just about money.

It’s about freedom.

Freedom to carve your own path.

Freedom to build something that’s yours.

It’s not easy — but it’s the only way to true independence.

That brings me to the Skill Mastery Series — a five-part newsletter covering the most foundational skills needed to succeed in the new economy.

These skills are the following:

  • Entrepreneurship

  • Distribution

  • Writing

  • Sales

  • Building

With this framework, you will be able to:

  • Gain control over your time and income.

  • Leverage writing skills to articulate your value.

  • Build distribution & get your work in front of the right audience.

  • Master the sales process to persuade people to buy your stuff.

That being said, let's dive in:

Important:

Last time, we gave an introduction to all the foundational skills.

Today, our entire focus is on the skill of — Entrepreneurship.

We will dive deeper into each skill in the following newsletters.

So stay tuned for that.

What is Entrepreneurship?

Entrepreneurship is the ONLY way to gain control over your time and income.

In a job — your employer controls the product, tasks, and customer acquisition.

Which means…

All of your efforts will only contribute to the growth of someone else’s project.

Not your own.

Entrepreneurship is the act of building something for yourself.

And business tends to be the most common vehicle for that.

Entrepreneurs don’t worry about the skills that will be relevant in 20 years.

They focus on being visionaries, strategists, and innovators.

They look for a problem in the world that has not been solve yet.

(or it is — but poorly)

They present a better solution…

And ask for payment (contact details and/or money) in exchange.

In a few words…

The entrepreneur gets paid by:

  • Doing what they love.

  • Doing what they are good at.

  • And doing what the world needs.

The best entrepreneurs in the world have the following traits:

  1. Self-Experimentation: The solution of complex problems through trial and error.

  2. Self-Development: A never-ending pursuit for greatness.

  3. Self-Reliance: Relentless execution & endurance.

  4. Self-Awareness: Understanding of how the world “actually” works.

  5. Self-Education: Use of curiosity & interest-based education.

  6. Self-Sufficiency: The design of a self-sustaining ideal lifestyle.

  7. Self-Mastery: Dedication to mastering all aspects of yourself.

If you noticed — It is all internal “self” work.

Master yourself = Master the world.

The Mindset Shift

“There’s isn’t a career that focuses so much in self improvement than entrepreneurship.”

Entrepreneurships is not only a career.

Is a 180-degree-mindset-shift.

Is looking at the standard path lay down by the system, parents & teachers…

And decide to completely reject it.

To go against the grain I build your own path.

  • To step into the unknown.

  • To follow your curiosity.

  • To follow your vision.

And improve every single aspect of your life — YOUR way.

Is embracing failure & risk.

Is the sacrifice of short term pleasures for long-term results.

Is the change in our physical, social & mental behavior all towards a meaningful goal.

The mindset shift is SO big…

That with enough improvement of your skills, traits & beliefs…

You start to the see the overall population as “brainwashed”.

  • Parties

  • Drugs

  • Black Fridays

  • Activism

  • Celebrities

  • Politics

  • Drama & Gossip

All a waste of cognitive & physical resources.

You start to see all of that — as social conditioning and a distraction.

Why waste my time on this activity…

If I can build the most important project of my life? — Myself.

  • By building my income.

  • By building my longevity.

  • By building my physique.

  • By building my relationships.

Everything becomes intentional.

All actions become a never ending pursuit for greatness.

With this mindset shift…

Your habits change for the greater good.

Netflix turns into podcasts & courses.

Scrolling turns into educational videos.

You still engage in leisure… Don’t get me wrong.

Rest is extremely important.

But it becomes a reward for effort. Not a default behavior.

Remember this:

There isn’t a price for perfection — just an end to pursuit.

Systems Thinking

For the entrepreneur — problems are not problems.

They are an opportunity to structure solutions.

  • Problems → Solutions.

  • Packaged Solution → Systems.

  • Packaged Systems → Products.

You solve stuff for yourself.

You document how you solve it.

You develop a system with your documentation.

And then you provide that system to yourself or the marketplace.

Everything you once deem as negative…

Becomes an opportunity to best yourself & profit from it in some way, shape or form.

Profit not only in money…

But in knowledge.

  • In better techniques for exercise.

  • In better ways to manage your emotions.

  • In deeper relationships with other people.

Take what life gives you — and make wonders with it.

Everything is a lesson.

And every lesson can be turned into a system.

Build your Principles.

Since we are children…

We are conditioned to a set of beliefs & principles of how the world works.

This is done by the sociaty, culture & the geographical place we where born.

Naturally for survival…

We try to fit in, be part of the group & think in similar ways.

This is deeply rooted into the sub-conscious as a survival mechanisms.

This is because in the far-past…

If you were exiled from the tribe — you were dead.

That’s why:

  • We do what we are told.

  • We don’t questions beliefs.

  • And we don’t engage in ideological debate.

But your are not bound to sociaty or expectations anymore.

  • What do you actually stand for?

  • What are your core principles?

  • Do you have limiting beliefs?

Where they handed to you? Or where they a internal realization based on analysis?

Do you own your beliefs? Have you questioned them? How do you know they are true?

Take a deep look into yourself & build the identity you aspire to have.

Become a person deserving of success.

How to 10X Your Learning

“The more we know the more we understand the great vastness of our ignorance”

Knowledge is power.

It affects everything we do, the intention behind it & the methods we utilize.

Is easier to stop smoking…

If you understand all the physiological tendencies that incites the bad habit.

Is easier to start having good nutrition…

If we understand the function of macronutrients & the effect they have in our bodies.

Is easier to make more money…

If we understand the economy, the marketplace & the art of business.

Just by knowing more — you behavior will change.

That being said…

Here’s how to 10x your learning — by understanding “how to learn”.

Atomic & Holistic Learning.

“All knowledge has a natural hierarchy of complexity that expands to other & all domains of information. It acts as a tree of topics with no clear location of it’s main body”

In simple terms…

You can go broad or you can go narrow.

Anytime you go & learn a new domain… (Example: Marketing.)

Start with the “broadest” definition of the term. (Holistic)

Then — dissect the topic & figure out it’s composition. (Atomic)

There’s 2 ways to look at this: Levels & Branches.

This is what I mean:

Levels:

Each circle is a level of knowledge or skill.

Mind you — this is just a representation. Levels of knowledge are technically endless.

If you go to lower levels…

That is what it means “going atomic”.

If you to higher levels…

That is what it means “going holistic”.

For example:

When people say: “You need to have a holistic perspective”

They are asking you to zoom out & look at the problem from a higher level of knowledge.

I'm not gonna be able to look at the whole picture of “why copywriting is important” — if I have little-to-no knowledge of marketing as a whole.

Branches:

This is when you dissect & discover the composition of any skill.

In the same way as levels…

Branches are technically endless no matter in which direction you go.

Both graphs occur at the same time with any topic.

Most people will reach a certain level, expand their knowledge completely on that topic, never dissect it composition & never reach the next level of knowledge development.

Ultimate Action List:

If you forget everything in this article, remember this checklist:

  1. Reflect on your current beliefs and principles - which ones do you truly own, and which were handed to you?

  2. Identify one area of your life or business you can apply systems thinking to. Break down the problem, document your process, and turn it into a reusable system.

  3. Choose one new skill to learn using the atomic and holistic approach. Start with the broad context, then dive into the details and components.

  4. Commit to a habit of continuous self-improvement. Dedicate time each day to learning,

  5. Embrace failure as a necessary part of growth. View challenges as opportunities to learn and improve, not roadblocks.

There you have it.
